HSA appointed to reimagine and repurpose the Clocktower on London Road

Refurbishment and revival opportunity

Clocktower Community Business Academy

Harrison Stringfellow were approached by the Clocktower Neighbourhood Society (led by local councillor Patrick Hurley) to appraise the renovation of the clocktower building at 104-106 London Road for use as a multi-purpose centre for the social economy.

A local landmark, the building was initially constructed in 1899 and still has signs of its history as Liverpool Furnishing Company through the ghostly signage remaining on the gable end. However it has sat vacant since 2014. We are working with the Society to develop their brief, identify key relationships and interaction between user-groups and produce a strategy to activate this building for use by the public.

The initial aims are to establish a building identity for the key community groups, creating a community business academy and resources for local businesses and prospective start-ups.
