The Park Palace opens its doors to the public again… for a Christmas cinema

The Park Palace is a loved landmark situated in the heart of L8, built in 1893 as a purpose-built music hall. Throughout its lifetime, the Park Palace has provided years of theatrical performances only to draw its curtains for the last time in 1959…until now.

Park Palace Ponies is a social enterprise driven by an offer to provide riding lessons and engagement with ponies to children and the local community in an inner city context. With the purpose to provide this experience to children who may not have the opportunity to leave the city for lessons, Park Palace Ponies intends to re-establish the role of the horse in the city and benefit the surrounding neigh-bourhood.

Since securing 4 grazing sites around the Park Palace, work has begun in regenerating the former theatre into a suitable pony arena, whilst untouching the original architecture that still remains as breath taking as it was when in use.

We believe it is now time for the Park Palace to open its doors to the public again for a pop up Christmas Cinema. In aid to raise funds and awareness of Park Palace Ponies, HSA invite you to join us on Saturday 10th-Sunday 11th December for Christmas film showings of ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ and ‘Elf.’ With a selection of seasonal food and drink, live carol singing and a visit from someone special, this is a family friendly opportunity for a festive celebration in a landmark that is one of Liverpool’s best-kept hidden gems.

We are calling everyone from local residents and organisations to families and children interested in pony riding and volunteering. To those who experienced and enjoyed the theatre in its former glory to the festive folk who just fancy a mulled wine, we invite you all to share stories and excitement for the regeneration of the Park Palace.
