Harrison Stringfellow were appointed by The Interesting Eating Company for the fit out of a new café/bar, Tusk. Situated in the central lobby of the mixed use studio and events space, Northern Lights, the challenge was to transform an under used circulation space into an active hub for both the users of the building and the public.
The recognisable ‘saw tooth’ form has been referenced throughout, including the profiled feature wall, printed bar front and lighting arrangment. We experimented by producing multiple sample panels of various timber treatments in house to create a multi-functional feature wall, housing a recessed seat, a wood burning stove, and public facing/private storage. The feature wall attributed to the cafe’s strong identity that is both individually distinctive but complimentary to the existing Northern Lights.
